Helping Hands, the richest, most amazing hand potion I have ever tried!
My hands are not pretty. I don't admit that hoping people will tell me how good they look. They really are scratchy and usually from baking Macarons and doing so many active things, my hands are the worst suffering part of me.
As a person who suffers from extremely dry skin, I am constantly applying various lotions to my hands. Very few actually sink into the skin, rather than just coating it with a type of conditioner that smells pretty.
I need more than that! For years I have relied on Amlactin to help remove the dry skin with milk acids and then to add moisture to the under layer. It worked okay but my hands still felt scratchy and my cuticles were cracked and dry.
Fast forward to Christmas 2013 when my longtime crush, acting on his new found knowledge of my love for all things LUSH, he gifted me with a huge pink and white floral hatbox filled with all sorts of magical pretties and potions from my favorite of favorite natural bath and beauty product shop!
It smells beyond heavenly in LUSH shops!
LUSH Handmade Bath Bombs! Delightful and so beautiful!
I was thrilled. I plopped down on the floor, like a child and squealed with glee every time I pulled a new treasure out of the box.
Cotton Candy Lip Scrub! I love it and yes! Strawberry Moisturizing Massage Bar? Yes please! Ro's Body Conditioner? Oh yes! Rose Bath Bombs? Yes and more yes!
On and on the lovely treats were pulled from the box until there was just one left...
One perfect little pot of Lush Helping Hands!
Here is the list of lovely and highest quality ingredients in Helping Hands:
Chamomile Water (Anthemis nobilis) , Linseed Mucilage (Linum usitatissimum) , Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) , Glycerine , Stearic Acid , Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) , Cetearyl Alcohol , Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Triethanolamine , Honey (Mel) , Lavender Oil (Lavandula hybrida) , African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) , Fragrance , Alkanett Extract (Alkanna tinctoria) , *Limonene , *Linalool ,Methylparaben , Propylparaben
I wasted no time twisting off the top of the little black pot of Helping Hands and applying a dime sized amount of lotion. It felt like heaven. The small scratches on my fingers and the backs of my hands from cutting roses two weeks ago, smoothed and softened, the crepe paper look of the skin on the back of my hands became less chalky and dry turning more satiny in appearance. Little did I know the best part was yet to come.
As a die hard hand washer, I go through a large wedge of Lush Karma Artisan Soap every other week. I use it in the bath and at the sinks. The lovely orange and lavender with just a tiny bit of sandalwood and patchouli makes my heart happy and leaves my hands super clean.. but it's very drying when even this gentle, high quality soap is used as often as I use it.
Throughout the evening and night of hand washing, the single application of Helping Hands continued to work!
When I woke up the next morning and went to rub my eyes, when to my delight, my hands were softer than the skin on my eyelids!
I was so surprised I had to touch my hands and inspect them closer. It was true, the cuticles and skin on my fingertips not only had been healed of dryness but of the scratches and burns accidentally touching a hot baking sheet last week!
Applied two to three times a day for the first week continued to repair all sorts of damage I had caused my hands and despite the fact that I am running out, even applying it once a day continues to better the condition of my skin.
After week one of total hand bliss, I went ahead and ordered more! I can't say no to pretty hands! I am a believer and pretty amazed!
Once again, my disclosure, I have not received and compensation for my honest review, good or otherwise, for any product I have mentioned. If you do try Helping Hands, (and I truly hope you do!) let me know what you think! I will bet that you might fall in love with this magic potion for the prettiest and softest paws yet!
