Pretty Hands! Lush Does it Again with Helping Hands! Pretty Amazing!

Helping Hands, the richest, most amazing hand potion I have ever tried!

My hands are not pretty. I don't admit that hoping people will tell me how good they look. They really are scratchy and usually from baking Macarons and doing so many active things, my hands are the worst suffering part of me.

As a person who suffers from extremely dry skin, I am constantly applying various lotions to my hands. Very few actually sink into the skin, rather than just coating it with a type of conditioner that smells pretty.

I need more than that! For years I have relied on Amlactin to help remove the dry skin with milk acids and then to add moisture to the under layer. It worked okay but my hands still felt scratchy and my cuticles were cracked and dry.

Fast forward to Christmas 2013 when my longtime crush, acting on his new found knowledge of my love for all things LUSH, he gifted me with a huge pink and white floral hatbox filled with all sorts of magical pretties and potions from my favorite of favorite natural bath and beauty product shop!

It smells beyond heavenly in LUSH shops!

LUSH Handmade Bath Bombs! Delightful and so beautiful!

I was thrilled. I plopped down on the floor, like a child and squealed with glee every time I pulled a new treasure out of the box.

Cotton Candy Lip Scrub! I love it and yes! Strawberry Moisturizing Massage Bar? Yes please! Ro's Body Conditioner? Oh yes! Rose Bath Bombs? Yes and more yes!
On and on the lovely treats were pulled from the box until there was just one left...

One perfect little pot of Lush Helping Hands!

Here is the list of lovely and highest quality ingredients in Helping Hands:
Chamomile Water (Anthemis nobilis) , Linseed Mucilage (Linum usitatissimum) , Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) , Glycerine , Stearic Acid , Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) , Cetearyl Alcohol , Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Triethanolamine , Honey (Mel) , Lavender Oil (Lavandula hybrida) , African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) , Fragrance , Alkanett Extract (Alkanna tinctoria) , *Limonene , *Linalool ,Methylparaben , Propylparaben

I wasted no time twisting off the top of the little black pot of Helping Hands and applying a dime sized amount of lotion. It felt like heaven. The small scratches on my fingers and the backs of my hands from cutting roses two weeks ago, smoothed and softened, the crepe paper look of the skin on the back of my hands became less chalky and dry turning more satiny in appearance. Little did I know the best part was yet to come.

As a die hard hand washer, I go through a large wedge of Lush Karma Artisan Soap every other week. I use it in the bath and at the sinks. The lovely orange and lavender with just a tiny bit of sandalwood and patchouli makes my heart happy and leaves my hands super clean.. but it's very drying when even this gentle, high quality soap is used as often as I use it.

Throughout the evening and night of hand washing, the single application of Helping Hands continued to work!

When I woke up the next morning and went to rub my eyes, when to my delight, my hands were softer than the skin on my eyelids!

I was so surprised I had to touch my hands and inspect them closer. It was true, the cuticles and skin on my fingertips not only had been healed of dryness but of the scratches and burns accidentally touching a hot baking sheet last week!

Applied two to three times a day for the first week continued to repair all sorts of damage I had caused my hands and despite the fact that I am running out, even applying it once a day continues to better the condition of my skin.

After week one of total hand bliss, I went ahead and ordered more! I can't say no to pretty hands! I am a believer and pretty amazed!

Once again, my disclosure, I have not received and compensation for my honest review, good or otherwise, for any product I have mentioned. If you do try Helping Hands, (and I truly hope you do!) let me know what you think! I will bet that you might fall in love with this magic potion for the prettiest  and softest paws yet!

Pretty Shiny! Pretty Soft! Coolway Hair Transform! Pretty Cool!

For my premier blog post, I wanted to write about something new to me and a product that isn't extremely mainstream. As it's not sold in stores (that I know of), I tend to rely on online reviews and other blogs. If the product(s) still sound like they might work for me then I take the jump and try them for myself. Sometimes they work, sometimes not so much, but it's always good to find out what others think about products before we get excited and invest.

I hope you find the following opinions helpful in your search for the best products for the best possible you!

I  am a hair product addict. If there is something new, with less chemicals suspected of causing health problems (and kinder to the environment), I must try them!

This product line was found by accident, during an insomnia laden, TV watching night:

From the Coolway website. The shopping link is remarkably easy to navigate.

Not really much to watch an infomercial, yet I was instantly sucked into the premise of soft, shiny hair, with no frizz and lots of shine and body. I'm paraphrasing but their claims were clear, that if my over processed to pale blond (from darkish mousy brown) damaged hair could look shiny and pretty! It is totally worth a try!

I selected the Coolway Shampoo, Coolway Conditioner and the Coolway Transformation Spray.
I hit the purchase button and began the impatient wait to try what could be my holy grail of hair salvation!

After reading many reviews and researching their technology and development page I was very eager to give this product a go.

Pictured above are the photos of the before and after treatment on hair strands with
Coolway Transform products..

My hair may be a bit worse than the before picture as it's been repeatedly double processed blond, dried after every wash with a brush and a T3 blow dryer and then straightened with my T3 iron.

After my traditional methods of hair taming, the best of my time wasting styles have always been temporary, at best. If my desired hairstyle lasted longer than four hours looking somewhat shiny and full and straight, then a miracle had happened. It was world war hair and my hair always won.

The former products I had been using (for almost six months)  on my abused hair are made by Not Your Mothers Long and Strong Shampoo and Conditioner and their additional styling and shine products. They weren't bad and my hair did have some significant growth but my hair was so damaged that even after using their products as directed, I didn't experience the shiny and body and softness and I so yearn for. Growth? Yes. I am more worried about the look and condition of the hair I have right now. Hence my delight to find a product line that might do just that!

Even Allure Magazine Agrees in it's "Best of Beauty 2012"
(I must have been under a rock when that review came out!)

Then the treasure box from Coolway Products arrived today! Having chosen normal shipping, it was a wait of approximately two weeks but certainly it could have arrived faster but I had no big event coming up so soon that a few more days wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Eagerly I opened my carefully packed box of hair love! I was quite surprised to find not one, but TWO free gifts in my order. Having only ordered the Coolway Shampoo and Conditioner set and the Transformation Spray, I was delighted to find a tube holding approximately an ounce of Coolway Boost and yet another (smaller) bottle of Coolway Transform.

According to most online review I have found, the Transform Spray is the diamond in the crown of these products. Also, the Transform Spray is used far more - think 30 sprays for chin to shoulder length hair and up to fifty sprays for longer hair - certainly it isn't a bad thing to have an ample supply of that particular product to extend my unbiased trial of this product line.

Within Five minutes of opening the box and reading the enclosed super clear instructions, the water was running in the bathtub and I was rinsing my hair just waiting to find out what my special results would be. Following are my thoughts based on my first time use of the Coolway Products (in order of use):

Step 1.
Coolway Cool, Cleanse and Hydrate Shampoo:
It smells nice, a bit like passion fruit with just a touch of fresh mint leaves. I did struggle with the pump portion of the bottle as this product is thick, thick, thick. It was like trying to pump the thickest frosting through a tiny tube. I did give up and simply took off the top and squeezed a small bit into my hands. That worked just fine. It feels nice to the touch and on the skin and hair.

First time users are suggested to shampoo twice and leave on longer for people with chlorinated hair (I'm thinking this product also helps to remove mineral deposits possibly.

My first use hardly achieved any foaming action at all. Granted, I had two days of product build up in my hair and was changing to a dramatically different type of product, so I promised I wouldn't base my conclusions solely on that so I then rinsed, and as suggested, shampooed with another small amount of the Coolway Shampoo.

This time it foamed! My hair felt squeaky clean, but not overly dry nor tangled. I shampooed to the scalp and ends as read from the instructions on the bottle. Did the warm water rinse and moved on to step 2.

Step 2.
Coolway Super Boost:
The Boost is the freebie I mentioned earlier, it is also a product to be used, unusually, between shampooing and conditioning. I decided to give this one a go as well.

The product smells nice - like tea leaves, and appeared to be a whitish color and not-too-thick consistency. It was suggested to use 2-3 teaspoons and leave on for four minutes. I did use the two teaspoons (was going to use a bit less but this product really came out of that tube quick! I applied it to my scalp and through my hair to the ends. I coild up my hair and waited. The first discovery I made about this product that I really liked was that, post-double shampoo, my hair was clean but not conditioned soft. As super clean hair tends to be more rigid and more likely to tangle, it is sometimes hard to get a conditioning product through the mass of hair twisted up on top of my head.

This product literally melted into the stiff wet mass of hair like butter without any further act than simply applying it properly, my hair immediatly was practically tangle free and felt clean and soft without much muss or fuss! I was getting happier by the minute.

After four minutes of the Boost Treatment I rinsed and moved on to step 3.

Step 3.
Coolway Cool, Cleanse and Hydrate Conditioner:
This thick cream conditioner smells much like the Boost Treatment, it smells of tea and mint. It has a pleasant smell that isn't cloying nor too perfumey smelling as I've complained in the past of artificial scent overload.

This product is made with Porphyra Seaweed for extra nourishment, according to the bottle. I don't know what that is but it certainly must contribute some magic to this potion set.

The directions said to apply a small amount to scalp and hair but avoiding roots so that the volume of my hair wasn't effected. Since I find that my roots and scalp are connected, I had an impossible time following these instructions.

After three minutes I rinsed my hair thoroughly with warm water and my hair felt super clean, super soft and healthier than I have felt it in a very very long time! My hair didn't have much of a scent that I could detect but for a slight smell of mint and tea. It smells clean without taking on a perfume of its' own. I prefer that. So on to step 4 and the conclusion.

Step 4.
Coolway Transform Spray:
This product is at the basis of the hair style revolution. It does have a strong beachy-coconut scent when first sprayed on towel dried hair but the scent really calms down as the hair (and product on it) begins to dry.

I did use 30 sprays on my shoulder length hair and as I mentioned, with long hair it would be up to fifty sprays, then I combed through and turned on my blow dryer to low. As soon as my hair began drying there was a very noticeable shine to my hair.

My hair does NOT shine. Even with those so-called shine sprays. My hair just doesn't.
It did with the Coolway set.

The roots that I had applied the conditioner to, against instructions, had more lift than I had ever seen my hair have.

Drying time went from nearly thirty minutes trying to dry my very porous hair to ten minutes including the final brush stying.

These products do NOT contain the following ingredients:
No Sulphates, Parabens, Pthalates or Synethic Color
No Formaldehyde
& they are NOT tested on our Animal Friends.
I like that very much!

Conclusion.
Coolway Transform System:
The last two to three inches of my hair are so fried that I did find that I had to pull out the straightening iron (I straight ironed firstly on 150 but had to go up to 230). The directions say no higher than 240 and I admit I hardly needed any straightening at all. I have never not needed to straighten my hair all over for ten to twenty minutes after drying for a half an hour. Every time.

But not this time!

To take my hair from dirty to cleaned (twice), boosted, conditioned and sprayed with the Coolway System then blowdried, partially straightened (on just the bit that needed it) and completely styled,
Total time it took? 25 minutes!

That is a serious record that will likely stand for a very long time!

Would I buy it again? Granted, this was first experience and I love the results but will continue to use it and add more thoughts and some photos as I keep using the system.

I am shocked that my normally wavy, frizzy, stubborn hair felt soft, looked shiny and oh so Pretty! Pretty and Shiny!

In no way shape of form was I paid for my review or my time to test these products. I purchased these products because I really wanted to try them. If you have similar daily hair battles, this is definitely a product line I would highly recommend!
